A General Qualitative Study of Point and Extended Defects and their Interactions in Non-Metallic Systems.

Abstract

In this report we describe progress in developing and implementing a general theoretical approach to describing the properties of defects and impurities of a general nature in non-metallic solid systems. Also we review progress in complementary non-destructive experimental tests. These tests employ and extend newly developed techniques in Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) imaging in solids. First of a kind EPR imaging experiments have been performed, and a new NMR imaging laboratory has been constructed. Keywords: Energetic solids.
