An Objective Rain/Snow Determination Technique for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Abstract

An objective technique is presented to determine the probability of whether atmospheric precipitation will be solid or liquid. Seven predictors are used in determining the probability. A method for determining these predictors as a function of station elevations is given. Keywords: Snow; Weather forecasting.
