Macromodeling of Digital Circuits.

Abstract

As circuit technology advanced into the LSI and VLSI levels, the Air Force's ability to analyze the the electromagnetic interference effect on these circuits became very restricted. The purpose of this investigation was to provide greater capabilities for the simulation of electromagnetic interference (EMI) effects on large electrical circuits (particularly logic circuits.) This requires an electrical analysis of the entire circuit to fully understand the nature of the problems that can arise when very high frequency interference is injected into what might otherwise be a reasonably straightforward logic analysis. Keywords include: Macromodeling, Circuit Analysis, Simulation, Analysis Techniques, and SPICE.
