Multivariate Analysis and Its Applications.

Abstract

During the period of October 1, 1985 - September 30, 1986, research work was done in the areas of signal processing, quality control, reliability and survival analysis, time series, characterization problems, robustness of test procedures, nonparametric estimation of density, pattern recognition, contingency tables, detection of outliers, selection of important variables, and multivariate distribution theory. About 40 technical reports were written during the above period. The work done under the present contract has many important applications in the problems of interest to the DOD. For example, they have applications in manufacturing technology, automation, expert systems, pattern recognition and machine intelligence, etc.
