Guidelines for Designing User Interface Software

Abstract

This report proposes 944 guidelines for designing software to support the user interface to computer-based information systems. These design guidelines cover six functional areas: data entry, data display, sequence control, user guidance, data transmission, and data protection. This report revises and extends previously published guidelines, and is the final compilation under current Air Force sponsorship.
