Frequency-Dependent v-Representability in Density Functional Theory.

Abstract

Frequency dependent perturbations, nu sub 1 (r,omega) exp(-i(omega)t), of a system in a non-degenerate ground state are studied. It is shown that (1) for omega < omega sub min, the lowest excitation frequency every nu sub 1 (r, omega) causes a density change; and (2) for omega > omega sub min' there are isolated frequencies where this is not the case. Keywords: Density Functional Theory; v-Representability; Frequency Dependent; Linear response.
