A Non-Linear Transfer Function Description of Wave Growth in a Boundary Layer.

Abstract

Linear and quadratic transfer Functions relating the velocity fluctuations at a downstream location in a laminar boundary layer to an excitation at some upstream point have been determined by experiment. These functions have then been used to reconstruct the responses arising from various excitations and the results compared with measured hot wire signals.
