Unit Price Magnitude versus Accuracy Trends of Secondary Items.
Abstract
Historical trends between price accuracy and magnitude for categories of secondary items were examined for their applicability in optimally selecting price limits for price screening procedures. These trends provide information on the rate of change in the concentration of overpriced items as price increases. Based on the trends, price limits can be selected above which there is a high probability of flagging an overpriced item. Price magnitude-accuracy trends were developed for groups categorized by nomenclature and Federal Supply Classification. (Author)
