Formation and Deactivation of Vibrationally Excited Atmospheric Molecules.
Abstract
Research has been performed on the following: (1) measurement of nascent vibrational population distribution of NO produced in the N(4S) + O2 reaction, using resonant 2-photon ionization spectroscopy for detection of NO, and (2) evaluation of Coherent Anti-stokes Raman Spectroscopy as a diagnostic for vibrationally excited molecular species, including ozone. Keywords: nitric oxide; ozone; vibrational excitation; multiphoton ionization; CARS spectroscopy.
