Delivery Systems for Bone Morphogenetic Protein for Repair of Battle and Civilian Incurred Bone Injuries.

Abstract

Regeneration of skull trephine and diaphysectomy bone defect was enhanced under the influence of bone morphogenetic protein. The problem to be solved by this research is to find: (a) delivery system for release of BMP at the same rate as a cancellous autogenedic bone graft; (b) biodegradable carrier substance; (c) non-immunogenic composition. Keywords: Wounds and injuries; Surgical implantation; Osteogenesis.
