AdaMeasure: An ADA (Trade Name) Software Metric.

Abstract

Software metrics is in its infancy, is a very new field and there are many scientists and educators who would choose to keep it that way. Software metrics is held in low esteem by many software engineers. There is much debate and argument about what a good metric should do, hot it should work, and what it should produce for the user. Yet with the cost of software rising, it is becoming more and more critical for future cost control and expense management that some automatic metric tool be implemented. Interest is growing, as evidenced by the Department of Defense expressing a strong interest in the development of an effective and reliable metric tool. It is no doubt that if this can be accomplished the automated software metric would be a valuable asset to the software engineering effort.
