Gordon Research Conferences (1983) Drug Metabolism.

Abstract

This Conference focused on the less well-known aspects of drug metabolism. The lymphatics and lymph were evaluated for their contribution to the long-term pharmacokinetics of xenobiotics. The lung having the propensity to metabolize xenobiotics differently than liver was shown to play an important role in the elimination of drugs and organic halogen compounds. The unusual metabolite was demonstrated using novel metabolic pathways, and the metabolism of natural product antineoplastic drugs and some agricultural chemicals. The keynote speaker: Nobel Laureate Sune Bergitrom presented an overview of the prostaglandin. This paper contains little information other than this abstract.
