A Database Management System Using a Generalized Relational Model.

Abstract

This report describes design and implementation of a database management system called MIDAS/GR which stands for Management of Information for Design and Analysis of Systems/Generalized Relational Model. This system is a complete redesign of its predecessors, MIDAS/N and MIDAS/R; Numerical and Relational subsystems. The new system generalizes the relational model and provides facilities for large numerical data as well as relational data in a unified manner. The system is substantially compact and efficient compared to its predecessors. Keywords: Data language interface; Data storage interface.
