Aircrew/Missile Training Device Embedded Computer Support Implementation Plan.

Abstract

This report recommends an implementation plan for improved logistics support of commercial off-the-shelf computer systems embedded in Air Force Aircrew/Missile Training Devices (A/MTD). A detailed background discussion identifies support problems, particularly with configuration management, experienced over the past few years. The impact of the on-going Air Force conversion of A/MTD support from in-house to contract is also addressed and conclusions based upon the new support concept are presented. Finally, implementation procedures and responsibilities are specified. Keywords: Simulators; Trainers.
