Application of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy to Electrochemical Interfaces.

Abstract

A Bruker/IBM IR 98-4A fourier transform infra red spectrometer was procured, installed and utilized in research. The instrument was mainly applied to problems related to electrochemical interfaces. Coverage dependent spectra for adsorbates featuring reversible adsorption-desorption equilibria were obtained. Comparisons between surface infra red and Raman spectroscopies for electrochemical systems were done. Keywords: Electrochemistry, Fourier, Spectroscopy.
