Properties of Reactive Atomic Species Generated at High Temperature and Their Low Temperature Reactions to Form Novel Substance.

Abstract

The report describes results of a research program which was focused on the elucidation of the chemistry fo Carbide molecules (from vaporized graphite), the use of a reverse-polarity, electrostatically-focused E-gun to examine zirconium chemistry, and the demonstration of the properties and the feasibility of preparation of atoms, di-atoms, etc. on surfaces, with the expectation that new types of heterogeneous catalysts would result from the effort. Keywords: Atomic species.
