MIG Operations in Korea.

Abstract

This report remarks on some historical aspects of MIG operations during the Korean War. A comparative description of the two adversarial aircraft, the MIG-15 and the F-86. Also, an examination of pilot training and tactics employed on both sides. Although outnumbered and constrained by the Yalu sanctuary the USAF pilot enjoyed a 10:1 kill ratio. Previous air to air combat experience, an excellent, gun sight and rapid firing machine guns plus aggressive tactics made the difference.
