Wetlands Research Program. Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual. Appendix C. Section 1. Region O - California.

Abstract

Presented is a subset of the National List of Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands of California. This list was initiated by the US FIsh and Wildlife Service, National Wetland Inventory (NEWI). A candidate national list of more than 5000 species was developed and, using information from more than 250 taxonomic refgerences, the NWI assigned a tentative wetland indicator status to many of the species. The indicator status categories define the estimated probabily of a species occuring in wetlands. For purposes of this manual, any plant species not appearing on the plant list was assumed to be an upland species unless a strong technical rationale could be developed for adding it to the list.
