Power Drive Amplifier (PDA): A Digital Controller for the ASROC Launcher MK 112.

Abstract

This report documents the functional description, the design features and advantages of the power drive amplifier (PDA) a microprocessor-based digital controller which replaces existing transistorized amplifiers in Launching Group Mk 16 Mods 1 through 8 elevation and train power drive systems. The design is based on closed-loop digital control techniques developed at NOSC and shown to be highly successful in several laboratory programs. Keywords include: Power drive amplifier, Digital controller, and ASROC Launcher MK 112.
