An ELF (Extremely-Low-Frequency) Transmitter Experiment for the Space Shuttle. (The NASC-201 (Naval Air Space Command) Experiment). Volume 1.

Abstract

This report describes the design for a spaceborne elf/vlf transmitter. The transmitter could be used for experiments to obtain the radiation data in a space plasma required to determine the feasibility of an elf downlink communications system from a satellite to a subsurface antenna. The antenna is designed to be deployed by the Remote Manipulator Arm on the Space Shuttle. Keywords: Extremely Low Frequency; Very Low Frequency; Transmitters; Ionosphere.
