Pathogenesis of Dengue Vaccine Viruses in Mosquitoes.

Abstract

The dengue-1 candidate vaccine (TP 56, nonmutagenized) and its parent virus were compared for their ability to infect orally Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The vaccine virus was as infective orally as the parent virus for both mosquito species. Increased extrinsic incubation temperatures resulted in more efficient replication of parent virus in mosquitoes.
