Failure Detection and Isolation for an Asychronous Digital Flight Control System.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to design and test a failure detection and isolation subsystem for a triply redundant asychronous digital flight control system. The focus of the research was to analyze the time skew effect in an asychronous environment. A model to estimate the time skew and the time skew related interchannel difference was developed. The design was tested in a simulation environment where the YF-16 longitudinal dynamics and the AFTI/F-16 digital flight control system were modelled. Keywords: Theses; Hypothetical tests.
