Inter-Vehicle Ranging System.

Abstract

The inter-vehicle ranging system is a simple and inexpensive device designed to provide distances between two bodies. It is an active systems in that receive/transmit transponders are employed in a master/slave relationship. The system can accommodate several transponders operating in differing frequency bands with range resolution of less than 30 meters. Resolution improves to LSB accuracy, or 10 meters, if one pair of transponders are used. The system is designed such that inter-vehicle can readily be incorporated in a PCM data stream. Keywords include: Inter-Vehicle Ranging and Distance Measuring.
