Proceedings of the Meeting of the Coastal Engineering Research Board (45th) Held in Fairbanks and Homer, Alaska on 14-16 May 1986.
Abstract
The Board's four military and three civilian members meet to do the following: Disseminate information of general interest to Corps coastal Districts and Divisions; Obtain reports on coastal engineering projects in the host (local) District or Division; receive requests for research needs; Provide an opportunity for State and private institutions and organizations to report on local coastal research needs, coastal studies, and new coastal engineering techniques; Provide a general forum for public inquiry; and Provide recommendations for coastal engineering research and development. Presentations during the 45th CERB meeting dealt with the regulatory program in Alaska coastal areas, North Slope hydraulic modeling activities, deep-draft navigation aspects of Prince William Sound, Homer Spit Beach Erosion Project, Anchorage Harbor Deep-Draft Navigation Feasibility Study, and the Alaska Coastal Data Collection Program. Appendix A to this proceedings contains the dredging operations research and development program needs and priorities. Appendix B summarizes the CERB task force meetings. Appendix C contains recommendation letters from nonmillitary CERB members.
