Project Turnkey Construction of Tuy Hoa Air Base, South Vietnam - A historical Perspective - Is There Future Application

Abstract

This article describes the construction of Tuy Hoa air base, South Vietnam using a unique construction contracting technique called turkney. The article highlights the wartime need for building Tuy Hoa and examines the specific contract provisions used to meet the operational needs dates. The construction of the base is discussed along with the lessons learned and application of the turkey technique in future Air Force military construction programs.
