Contractor Operated Parts Stores (COPARS) Study.

Abstract

As a result of a recommendation from HQ TRADOC to HQDA, HQ AMC tasked MRSA to study the feasibility of expanding COPARS to include parts for tactical vehicles and other types of equipment. The concept for conducting the study included pertinent field visits to Fort Hood and Fort Rucker; the reviewing of existing regulatory guidance; researching previos studies/reports; distributing a message to the AMC MSC's, LEA and FORSCOM to solicit comments to TRADOC's recommendation; and soliciting information from appropriate activities via telephone. A COPARS is a civilian store located on a CONUS military installation and operated by a contractor. It provides over-the-counter sales of repair parts for nontactical wheeled vehicles, commercial construction equipment and material handling equipment.
