Stabilization of Cubic ZrO2 with Rh(III) and/or La(III).

Abstract

Samples of stabilized cubic zirconium oxide were prepared containing rhodium(III), lanthanum(III) and both La(III) and Rh(III). The properties of these compounds were studied by x-ray analysis and temperature programmed reduction. These studies indicated that the cubic phase becomes stabilized with the incorporation of La(III) or Rh(III) into the ZrO2 structure.
