Chinese-Made Horizon Display System,

Abstract

After a successful flight test, a series of improvements on the horizon Display Fire Control System developed by the Electro Optical Research Institute of the Chinese Aeronautic Industrial Department were conducted. The three components are pilot display unit, pilot control box, and electronic assembly. The original large computer was replaced by a multiple microprocess system. This new system passed firing practice flight tests successfully. Besides an adapting flight, photo shooting tests, inspections of its navigation function, tests of a tracer shell inspecting hot line, the continuous calculating impact points (CCIP) in air to ground shooting tests by using fire guns, missiles and bombs, as well as tests of horizon continuous release points (CCRP) were also conducted. Results showed the system functions were satisfactory. (China, Chinese Translations).
