Demolition/Salvage Analysis of Offshore Platforms. Stage I and II. Draft of Final Report.

Abstract

The U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Chesapeake Division, awarded Barnett & Casbarian, Inc. (BCI) Contract No. N62477-82-C-0393, to perform an analysis of alternative methods of demolition, salvage, and/or disposal of two offshore platforms. The two platforms are located offshore Panama City, Florida in the Gulf of Mexico. Both structures are approximately 25 years old and are currently only used for unmanned meteorological experiments. Each structure was inspected above and below water in December, 1980. Both structures were found to be in an advanced stage of deterioration below the waterline and in generally poor condition above the waterline.
