Design and Development of an Indexing Vocabulary for ONR's Psychological Sciences Division, and Preparation of a Subject Index for ONR Document 450-8, March 1976.
Abstract
In January of 1977, R-K Research and System Design reviewed the March 1976 summary of ONR's Psychological Sciences Division's FY 1976 programs with an eye to judging the feasibility of devising a controlled vocabulary for indexing the textual content of the abstracts describing each project (work unit) as well as the citations for technical reports and publications resulting from each project. It was concluded from this review that it was feasible to develop an indexing vocabulary for preparing suitable indexes to each annual summary of the research supported by ONR's Psychological Sciences Division. This final report on Work Unit Number NR 196-151 documents the procedures that were followed in designing and developing the indexing vocabulary, the methodological aids that were used, and the steps that were followed to formulate a Subject Index for ONR Document 450-8 of March 1976.
