Monte Carlo Reliability Analysis.

Abstract

The work carried out during the 1985/86 contract year is summarized: Markov Monte Carlo methods are generalized to include inhomogeneous Markov processes. Two new sampling techniques allow the treatment of reliability problems which include time-dependent failure rates and preventive maintenance. Incorporation of periodic testing and repair allows classes of revealed and unrevealed failures to be combined in problems with wear, periodic maintenance and component dependencies.
