Conductance of Aqueous Solutions of 1-Methyl-3-Ethylimidazolium Chloride.

Abstract

The specific conductance and pH of aqueous solutions of 1-methyl-3-ethylimidazolium chloride (MECH1) were measured at room temperature. The behavior of MEIC1 is characteristic of a strong electrolyte. The transport numbers of MEI(+) and C1(-) calculated from single ion equivalent conductances at infinite dilution were t(+)(MEI(+) = 0.29 and t-(C1(-)) = 0.71. Keywords: imidazoles, chlorides.
