IR Liquid Switch. Volume 1.

Abstract

In recent years, nonlinear optical materials having large nonlinear optical coefficients when combined with novel optical mechanisms have found many applications in the field of phase conjugation, image processing, optical computing, and optical switching. We have analyzed two dynamic nonlinear optical effects, artificial Kerr and photothermal, and reviewed two nonlinear phenomena, self-defocusing and nonlinear interface. The generic results are discussed. Keywords include: Nonlinear optical materials, Photothermal effect, Artificial Kerr effect, Self-Defocusing, and Nonlinear interface.
