A Parametric Patch Surface Geometry Definition for the Three-Dimensional Retarded Potential Technique.

Abstract

A parabolically parametric surface patch basis has been developed for the geometric calculations of the discretized retarded potential integration. Arbitrary three dimensional surface geometries can be handled, with a present restriction on the allowed orientation of the surface patch grid lines. A test problem confirms the accuracy of the formulation. Keywords: Retarded potential integral; Boundary element method; Acoustic wave; Parametric surface geometry; Differential geometry.
