Some Results Concerning Random Arcs on the Circle.

Abstract

Random arcs having random sizes are placed on a circle. Let V be the length of the uncovered portion of the circle and G be the number of uncovered gaps on the circle. Results are presented concerning the joint moments of V and G and the conditional distribution of V given G. Keywords: Random variables; Geometrical probability; Coverage distributions.
