Study of the Oxidation State of Copper in La1.8Sr.2CuO4.

Abstract

Samples of La1.8Sr.2CuO4 were prepared by decomposition of the nitrates. From magnetic susceptibility, temperature programmed reduction and ESR measurements, it is concluded that the Cu(II) has most probably disproportionated to Cu(I), Cu(III).
