Materiel Acquisition Handbook. Revision

Abstract

The material acquisition handbook represents the product of a joint effort by the army meteriel command and the army training and doctrine command. It is designed as a tool for effective management of the materiel acquisition process. It is a unique document compiling key materiel acquisition policy promulgated by the department of defense and the department of the army and supplemented by AMC and TRADOC. The handbook reflects the current procedures for policy implementation and focuses on the army streamlined acquisition process (ASAP). It includes charts and diagrams for appreciation and understanding of the complex acquisition process and it describes those actions essential for efficient and effective management of the acquisition and support of army materiel.
