Integrated Information Support System (IISS). Volume 8. User Interface Subsystem. Part 22. Report Writer User Manual.

Abstract

The Report Writer (RW) is a tool for generating hardcopy reports of selected data base information that is accessible through the Integrated Information Support System (IISS) Neutral Data Manipulation Language (NDML). To generate a report, you must first use the Report Definition Language (RDL) to define the report. When you have the report defined, you then go through several steps defined in Appendix A to produce the report. This manual also describes the Hierarchical Report Writer which functions as a post processor to the Report Writer. It takes the furnished report as input and can output either a true hierarchical arrangement or an assembly or an assembly type of layout. The main objective of this manual is to describe the syntax of the RDL. Topics covered include: 1) how to define a report; 2) the syntax of the language; and 3) how to create a report definition.
