Planning and Executing a Transition to a Newly Constructed Military Health Care Facility.

Abstract

Planning for and executing a move into a new health care facility while at the same time continuing operation of an old facility is an extremely complex process. The author uses recent experience obtained during a move to a newly constructed Army hospital to provide valuable information to other military health care administrators who may be confronted with this task. The essay is an executive summary of the more detailed information contained in, Transition Planning Packet, Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado, December 1984, which was also written by the author. A copy of this document is on file with the Military History Institute, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. Keywords: Relocation; Hospitals; Medical services; Theses.
