Texture Perception and Shape from Texture.

Abstract

This proposal summarizes the progress made during the year 1984-85 under grant AFOSR 82-0317. We have examined the problem of extracting simple, preceptually significant representations of natural textures, and developed a system for lowest level preceptual grouping of dots in dot pattern representation. We have also developed procedures for deriving a 'scale-space' representation of natural textures in terms of discs.
