Development of An Ultra-Fast-Curing Wound Dressing

Abstract

A drug-dispensing field wound dressing is being developed. The wound dressing, which can be easily applied by an untrained person, contains a coagulant to stop bleeding, and an antibiotic to prevent bacterial infection. The medicated wound dressing is made of an ultra-fast-curing polyurethane oligomer which is designed to cure at room temperature and delivers drugs on a controlled, sustained and highly reproducible basis.
