A Database Management System to Manipulate Data Collected at the National Training Center, Ft. Irwin, California.

Abstract

This thesis provides a step by step development of a database management program. Using a problem defined by the intended user, the thesis develops a model of the real world situation using Entity-Relationship Diagrams. This model is then refined into a Relational Model and implemented into a database management program. The theoretical principles used to validate the refinement process are presented in detail to substantiate the procedure. Included also, are a user specific program which facilitates data manipulation and a user's manual which describes the intricacies of the program. Keywords: Computer program documentation; Theses.
