Harbor Monitor System.

Abstract

The Coast Guard's Office of Research and Development collected high quality Loran-C data for the Loran-C signal stability projects. This report presents three years of Loran-C Time Difference (TD) data collected at 59 locations around the United States and Canada. These locations cover every major Harbor Approach (HHA) area of the United States. For each location, information is broken down into three sections. The first section covers equipment type, accurate latitude and longitude, secondaries tracked and geometry. In the second section, we provided three year TD plots and average values for each secondary. The third section presents 95% probability error ellipses of each year and pair of secondaries. TD and error ellipse plots in this report clearly show that the year-to-year repeatability of Loran-C is excellent. Seasonal, weather and chain control procedures can also be seen within the data. Accurate Additional Secondary Phase Factors (ASF) can be calculated using the latitude, longitude, and TD values.
