Organosilicon Polymers as Precursors for Silicon Containing Ceramics: Recent Developments.

Abstract

A review of the dehydrocyclodimerization route to preceramic polysilazanes starting from (CH3SiHNH)n, the ammonolysis product of CH3SiHC12, as well as similar processing of coammonolysis products and the application of the living polymer intermediates involved in this chemistry in the preparation of novel hybrid preceramic polymers. Keywords: Silicon nitride, Polysilazanes, Silicon carbide, Ceramics.
