Estimation of Melting Point.

Abstract

Two equations have been developed for the estimation of the melting points, TM, of rigid aromatic and flexible aliphatic organic compounds. These compounds include alkyl, halo, cyano, nitro, hydroxo substituted benzenes, aromatic polycyclics and branched and unbranched paraffins. The estimation was accomplished through use of thermodynamic parameters related to melting. The approach includes both additive and non-additive constitutive properties of the molecules. Keywords: Melting point.
