Concept Design for an Advanced Technology Seismic Observatory.

Abstract

A system concept for an Advanced Technology Seismic Observatory was developed. This study emphasized a broad and versatile design offering various options depending on the circumstances. A primary objective is to incorporate modern concepts in electronic design to allow direct recording of the entire signal rather than in sections as is presently done. The latest designs in seismometers are specified for use in the different possible applications such as the Geotec 36000 and 44000.
