A Database Design for a Unit Status Reporting System.

Abstract

This thesis advances the hypothesis that utilization of a database management systems (DBMS) will lead to improved accuracy and decrease the amount of time spent on the preparation of the U.S. Army's Unit Status Report (USR). This study developed data flow diagrams of the proposed USR system, along with a supporting passive data dictionary. A Semantic Database Model (SDM) schema for the proposed USR system is also presented. This thesis concludes that the proposed database design for the USR system be implemented using a standard (Army-wide) DBMS.(Author)
