Cross-Correlation of Uniform Cyclic Difference Set Sequences.

Abstract

The incidence vector or characteristic function of a cyclic difference set can be viewed as a full period of a cyclic binary sequence. These cyclic difference set sequences possess certain desirable properties for applications in digital communications, radar ranging and some aspects of mathematical modeling. One particularly desirable property unique to cyclic difference set sequences is their two-level auto-correlation function. In this thesis, the cross-correlation functions of a sample of uniform cyclic difference set sequences are investigated. The cross-correlations involve equivalent and inequivalent uniform cyclic difference set sequences. In addition, the span and cyclotomic cosets are determined for each sequence in the sample.
