A Study of Non-Normal Duty Hour Physician Hospital Time at MEDDAC, Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Abstract

The assignment of non-normal duty (on-call) hour duties to physicians is often a source of dissatisfaction and conflict among the physicians. Without a comprehensive policy on non-normal duty hour duties, there exists potential for staff dissatisfaction. This paper studies the issue of non-normal duty hour duties at an Army Community Hospital and develops a methodology for determining an equitable method of allocating non-normal duty hour assignments among physicians.
