United States - Japan Workshop on Dielectric and Piezoelectric Ceramics (3rd) Held in Toyama, Japan on November 9-12, 1986.

Abstract

These roundtable discussions were held in the areas of dielectrics, piezoelectrics, processing, and mechanical properties. The value of this series of workshops on dielectric and piezoelectric materials to the United States is twofold: First, the discussions, both formal and private, have provided a source of new research ideas for the individual scientist. Second, the collective knowledge gained by the U.S. attendees, individuals having many different areas of expertise, has aided the Navy in focussing on the newest and most important research directions which the Japanese are taking on these materials. It is clear that the components and devices based on these materials. It is clear that the components and devices based on these materials have played an ever increasing role in Naval applications as well as the U.S. technology as a whole. Keywords: piezoelectric ceramics, metallo organic, precursors, microstructure, ferroelectrics, capacitors, microwaves, sputtering, failure(electronics), thin films, crystal growth, hydro static, testing, transducers.
